Updated: Apr 29

Tryon Painters & Sculptors nominated Bill Dill for induction into the Second Wind Hall of Fame and the Board of Second Wind Hall of Fame accepted the nomination. Bill was officially inducted at the April Board meeting of Tryon Painters & Sculptors.

Bill has volunteered at TPS for many years in different capacities. Currently, he is co-curator of TPS exhibits. You will see Bill emptying the trash, separating recycling and always helping to clean up after events. He has looked after the kiln for some time. At Upstairs Artspace, he was a committee member for exhibits. Bill has also been a volunteer with The Rotary Club of Tryon and serves on the Board of Directors

Bill moved to Tryon in 2015 with his spouse, Kam Kammerer, from Dallas, Texas. He spent 40-plus years in IT/Telecom management. He was instrumental, along with others, in raising funds to help found a free clinic in Houston, Texas, and was a founding member of the Contra Costa Aids Project in California. He also worked with multiple corporate pride resource groups.

The mission of Second Wind is to identify outstanding volunteers who contribute so much to the quality of life in our community and to recognize retirees sixty years and over who had a useful and productive life continuing beyond retirement while others paused to rest. They caught a “second wind” and began a new service career to the community and mankind.

Second Wind Hall of Fame is a 501(c)(3) organization and welcomes nominations for induction.  Requests for nomination forms may be sent to carolbrowning72@gmail.com.
