Call for 12 Plein Air Artists

On October 16, the Tryon Fine Arts Center (TFAC) will open their beautiful grounds for a special plein air painting opportunity exclusively for members of Tryon Painters and Sculptors.

This event coincides with a musical performance at 12:30 p.m. Attendees will have time before and after the performance to stroll the grounds, watch the painting process, and perhaps purchase a piece of art.

This partnership between TFAC and TPS is designed to bring together our arts-loving community and showcase fine art in Tryon — during one of the most beautiful times of year to paint in the mountains.

Event Details:

  • 12 artist spots available (first-come, first-served)

  • TPS will provide canvases (9”x12” and 12”x12”)

  • Artists bring their own easels, brushes, and materials

  • Painting areas include the gardens, pavilion, and mountain-view spaces

  • Sales are directly between artists and buyers (no commission required). Artists may choose to donate to TPS or TFAC if they wish.

If you are interested in being one of the 12 plein air artists, please contact event coordinator: Amy Goldstein-Rice
