People’s Choice Award – Harmonies of the Foothills

The votes are in for the Harmonies of the Foothills exhibit, and we are thrilled to announce Skip Williams as the People’s Choice Award winner. His oil painting, Mountain Stream with Carolina Blue Sky, resonated deeply with gallery visitors, capturing a quintessential slice of our local landscape.

From the Artist:

"In this piece, I wanted to capture the clarity of Appalachian mountain water and its motion as it cascades over a small waterfall—a scene familiar to many of us here in the Pacolet River Valley. Interestingly, the 'blue sky' of the title only appears where it is reflected in the water itself.

I consider myself a TPS success story. I only recently began painting, taking two classes with Vicki, and this was actually my seventh painting ever. Without the community and instruction at TPS, I wouldn't have discovered this art form."
